WW Track Club is a USA Track & Field Member Organization located in Pataskala, Ohio.  Steve Hyme, a USATF Level 1 certified coach, coaches the co-ed youth division for kids ages 7-14.  Marty Dahlman coaches the high school division. The information on this site pertains to the youth division.

GOALS:

We will help the young people in our community learn about track and field and participate in track and field meets. We strive to teach the basics of track and field events in a fun, positive and rewarding environment. Good sportsmanship and team unity are encouraged. 

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

1.  Current calendar year individual youth membership in USATF ($20)
2.  Completed WW Track Club membership application
3.  Copy of a valid birth certificate

TIME COMMITMENT:

Participation in any given practice or meet is optional. Although we encourage attendance at all practices, we want athletes and parents to be able to choose their level of involvement at this age.  

EVENT INSTRUCTION IS GIVEN IN:

• 50M through 3000M running events
• Hurdles
• Shot put
• High jump
• Long jump
• Discus
• Javelin
• Softball throw
• Standing broad jump
• Combined Events

Note: Instruction in other events may be given upon special request.

COST:

1.  Current calendar year USATF membership ($20)
2.  Meet entry fees (typically about $5 per event)
3.  Optional uniform ($20)

WEATHER POLICY

In the case of inclement weather, Coach will send out an e-mail approximately 1 to 2 hours prior to practice stating whether or not practice is cancelled.   We will typically hold practice in light rain, but cancel practice in the case of heavy rain or lightning.   If it is raining heavily when you arrive at practice we will meet in the picnic area near the concession stand.   Coach will often utilize this time to talk to the athletes about meet preparation, nutrition and hydration, goal setting or other topics.  Coach will also utilize this time to talk to parents and athletes about upcoming meets, paperwork, and other club information.
